I believe in providing goal-directed treatment. This means that a treatment goal or several goals are established after an initial assessment. All treatment is then planned with the goal in mind and progress is made toward accomplishment of that goal in a time-efficient manner.
I use evidence-based treatment methodologies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices (i.e., exercise for the mind that reduces stress and builds emotional intelligence), and acceptance and commitment therapy. Experience and mature intuition guide the therapeutic process as well.
Psychotherapy works best when we form partnerships with our clients because the better we know each other and work well together, the more the results of our hard work will deepen and last.
Guiding principles of my approach are:
Hope: I am inspired to envision a way of living for every individual that brings hope, energy and inspiration to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Excellence: I strive toward excellence because I care about my clients and I take pride in what I do.
Appreciation: I focus on aligning your strengths, and know that sometimes weaknesses are diminished, or even irrelevant, when we build on core strengths.
Informed Treatment: I apply a healthy combination of expertise, research and intuition to inform my treatment approach.
